CLOTHING (BOY'S CLOTHING)

FACTS.......

  • Small boys ( ages 3-6 ) commonly wore a Tunic Suit.
  • Most small boys wore overalls in the 1840's.
  • Boys wore shirts and pants made out of buckskin.
  • Girls made all of the boys clothing.
  • Shoes in the 1840's had leather at the bottom

BOY'S HATS IN 1840'S FACTS:

  • Boys wore hats with brims.
  • A lot of the boys' and mens' hats were black.
  • Boys wore hats made out of straw and leather.

SHOES FOR MEN IN 1840:

  • Blacksmiths made shoes, with a metal tool.
  • The men and boys' sometimes wore boots.
  • The shoes they wore had nails that weren't that big.

OPINION..............

  • I think the most important clothing they wore was hats in the 1800's.
  • I think that because if they didn't wear hats they would have sunburn and they didn't worry about tan back in the 1800's

PANTS 1800:

  • Boys wore pants made out of wool, buckskin, and deer skin.
  • Pants were important back then because then there legs would be burnt.

THIS IS BUCKSKIN.......

  • An image of some buckskin and some deerskin.
  • Deerskin is skin and fur of a deer.
  • They would see deer then cut there fur with shears then they would cut open the skin of the deer.

MORE FACTS........

  • Most of the shoes they were the color brown.
