It wasn't until the games in 1988 that they added the Super Giant Slalom to the skiing program.

There is a Paralympics for this sport. Paralympics means that you have a disability like you can't walk or see.

Super combined was the first sport in Alpine Skiing which was in 1936.

TED LIGETY

AN AMERICAN ATHLETE COMPETING IN ALPINE SKIING

Ted won one gold medal. He won it in Giant Slalom. Ted also competed in Combined Downhill, Slalom and Super-G. He was the first American to grab a second Olympic gold.

Ted Ligety also thinks that Alpine Skiing is an excellent and energetic sport!
