  • He was a Spanish explorer of the new world and one of four survivors of the Narvaez expedition
  • He had difficult travels from Florida through Texas and on to Mexico City
  • He returned to Spain and expressed outrage at the Spanish treatment of the Indians
  • He became a judge in Seville, Spain until his death around 1597
