PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1. Is it necessarily a bad thing that we come to see animals as more of a service and an object as we grow older? How would this differ from seeing humans differently?
2. How does the author's participation in various movements, such as the Civil Right's movement, influence the thoughts in her writing?
3. Do you think that the author's comparison of the belittling of animals to that of women and blacks is effective? If so, how?
4. Do you think that animals have the same suffering capabilities as human beings, or this too far fetched?
5. Since the author, Alice Walker, is black, a woman, and lived during a time of segregation, do you think that affects her view or makes her more sensitive to the topic discussed.
