Amelia Earhart had faded blue eyes, short auburn hair, and lots of freckles. Amelia was 5'7 and wore a size 9 shoe.
Amelia was known for being independent and intelligent. She was well educated and the people who knew her remembered her for her politeness.
Amelia was born on July 24th 1897. She first lived in Atchinson Kansas. And was known as the rambunctious child.
Amelia realized she wanted to fly at the age 10 when she first saw a plane at a state fair in Iowa.
Amelia Earhart moved to Des Moines at the age of 9 and started high school there, then later finished high school in Chicago.
Amelia had her first flying lesson in 1921, 6 months later she managed to buy her own plane.
Amelia received national geographic society gold metal from President Hoover. Amelia was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic.
Amelia has won many other awards a few of them are: women's speed record 100 kilo, first person to fly solo from LA to mexico city, and first women to fly solo nonstop coast to coast.
On July 2nd 1937 Amelia took off for her flight around the world. She reported cloudy weather to transmissions but she couldn't hear the response. She disappeared and a 4 million dollar search was sent for her but she was never found.
