Define Imperialism- Imperialism in my own words is a country colonizing another country marking it as one of their territory and helping that country militarize and help them get caught up. This can benefit both countries.

Explain why President George Washington did not like the idea of imperialism? He didn’t like it because the United States got out of that type of situation. He didn’t want The United States to become something similar to Great Britain.

HOW WAS THE PAST EXPANSIONISM SIMILAR TO 1900S IMPERIALISM AND HOW WAS IT DIFFERENT? It was similar because they wanted to expand but the only difference was that they were expanding their territory not their nation. Mainly used other Countries for their benefits.

REASONS WHY IMPERIALISM WAS GOOD

• Helping other countries catch up.
• Made everyone work together (made the world go around).
• They made allies.

REASONS WHY IMPERIALISM WAS BAD

• Made enemies.
• They could end up in a problem that would hurt their economy.
• They could start a war with some countries?
• They could end up in a problem that they don’t deserve to be in.

I think because they saw themselves (as a nation) that is was their job to go out and expand and help other Nations. They fought for others and I think that if they didn’t, it would’ve been selfish because they’re big and advance for a nation to not go and help others. Just imagine if the United States didn’t go out there, Other Nations would probably invade other countries and do bad things. Plus sometimes you got to control the world before it controls you.
