The American Lung Association (ALS) is funded by volunteers and donations. Many fundraisers are held to support this organization. These include: walks and runs, stair climbs, golf tournaments, cycling events, and many more. It is not connected with any other nonprofit organizations.

Mission Statement: To save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Goals:The American Lung Association will eliminate tobacco use and tobacco-related lung disease.
The American Lung Association will improve the air we breathe so it will not cause or worsen lung disease.
The American Lung Association will reduce the burden of lung disease on patients and their families.

Services Offered:
The American Lung Association is offering a free-of-charge, online caregiving coordination service called “My Fighting for Air Community” to support individuals affected by acute and chronic lung diseases.

You can volunteer for the American Lung Association.Special events are a fun and simple way to support the American Lung Association. You can volunteer to participate in special events such as an Asthma Walk or Stair Climb in your community. Some events are even unique to a particular area. Contact your local Lung Association office today to find out how you can Fight for Air with us.

There is not an age limit for participants. However, parents must consent to the event waiver for participants under 18 and children under 12 must climb with an adult.
