PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Ana Tijoux

AND THE UNSPOKEN STORIES OF HISTORY

Ana Tijoux's parents were jailed then forced into exile in 1973. Tijoux was born in 1977 in France. At the age of 16, 1993, she moved back to Chile.

In the late 1990s Ana formed the hip-hop group Makiza; the group
included Zaturno, DJ Squat,and Seo2.

Makiza had two albums and signed with Sony in 1998. In 2000 Makiza split as Ana Tijoux decided to pursue a solo career.

After Makiza, Ana abandoned hip-hop and turned to latin pop. In 2007 she was nominated for a MTV Latin America award for her song "Despabilate".

After her swim in Latin pop she went back to hip-hop. 1977 was released in 2009; which is her biggest album

The song that gave the album it's title was "1977". Which is about the year she was born and the struggles that Chile was going through.

In 2012 National Records released Ana Tijoux's most recent album La Bala. Which became a big hit around the world.

2012: Ana Tijoux won a Grammy for the hit album 1977. She won in the category of Best Latin Rock Album.

Ana Tijoux isn't only a artist, she's also a mother. She has two kids, a toddler boy, and a one year old named Emilia.

In my opinion, Ana Tijoux is a warrior. She raps about controversial events that not everyone likes, but she lets the hate slide of her back. Ana doesn't just rap for the money, she does what she does because it's what she loves to do. Therefore I believe Ana Tijoux is a warrior.
