reason of existence

  • Shows others the "true" beauty of flowers
  • Spread the love and appreciation of flowers
  • Others can enjoy the untainted, naturally beautiful flowers
  • Reminds people about life's simple pleasures
Georgia painted these two flowers up close because she wished to tell people of their true beauty because to actually see a flower we would have to look very closely. A quote from Georgia O’Keeffe, “Nobody sees a flower - really - it is so small it takes time - we haven't time - and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.”

The mood

  • Innocence
  • Purity
  • True joy
Georgia O'Keeffe married a photographer by the name of Alfred Stieglitz in the year 1924 and the painting was completed in 1929. Alfred was the person who gave Georgia her first art gallery show and from what I researched, the couple were not going through any hardships at that time when Georgia painted this artwork.
