Human Truths:
In the book, Alex is not the only one planning the escape, there are multiple people planning, because "two heads are better than one." This can relate to the everyday lives of students and adults in their careers, education, and marriages. Student often have group projects to work on together, adults in their respected fields often work with a partner to decide on a business plan or what is best for their business, and husband and wife often make decisions with each other so that they can figure out what is best for their financials and their children. This shows that "Two heads is better than one" is a human truth and we use it almost everyday.
Human Truths:
In Lockdown, Alex and his friends are in constant fear for their lives and have to put up with the nightmarish conditions. Throughout they are being threatened by the warden and if they disobey his orders they are ruthlessly attacked by hellhounds, attack dogs, from the furnace. Just like how ISIS and other terrorist organizations instill fear into people. Or how North Korea is controlled by Kim Jong Un and other military leaders threaten the rest of the world with their Nuclear bombs. Most people wouldn't take action but there are a brave few, like Alex and his friends, who try to defy these rulers, like the warden, sometime they succeed but other times they will not. These rulers will instill fear into their people but a rebellion will rise to combat these evil rulers.
Human Truths:
In this book hope is a vital thing that the cellmates have to have to be able to endure and escape the Furnace. This place literally would suck the life out of anybody who was imprisoned there, but with that small bit of hope they had they were able to escape successfully. Although Alex had minimal to little hope, he was able to create a plan and escape. Some of the people in the furnace were hopeless like Donovan and therefore never had the courage to attempt to escape like Alex and his friends did. In real life, it is always good to have a little bit of hope in any situation. For example, applying for a job or college, accomplishing something, or in a sport. In conclusion, Hope is a very important thing to have in a time of trouble or when you're in need.
