ATHLETES FOOT

  • Athlete's foot is a fungal infection
  • It effects the upper layer of the skin in the foot
  • Athlete's foot is a type of ringworm
  • It requires a warm, moist area to vecome a problem

BOILS AND CARBUNCLES

  • A carbuncles are red, painful bumps under the skin
  • Caused by bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus)
  • This type of bacteria is found in e skin, throat, and nasal passage
  • Boils are hair follicles that have got stopped up by pusnunder the skin.
  • Boils and carbuncles are contagious

COLD SORES

  • Cold sores are the infection of the lips, gum, or mouth
  • The correct name for cold sores is Herpes labialis
  • Usually spreads when a person has come into context with some one with it

DERMATITIS

  • Dermatitis is a general term for inflammation of the skin.
  • Since it is a general term, it covers a wide variety of problems.
  • Such as: eczema, rash from poison ivy, and dandruff.
  • Usually isnt deadly or life threatening.
  • Can be treated easily if you keep it on routine.

IMPETIGO

  • Impetigo is a rash that commonly affects kids and babies
  • Impetigo is a very highly contagious rash that can be gotten from contact
  • It will usually clear up n its out in 2-3 weeks
  • With antibiotic drugs, it won't contagious after 24-48 hours
  • You will need to keep your child home if they have it

PSORIASIS

  • Psoriasis is a common skin disease that causes irritation
  • It causes the cells to rapidly grow on the surface of the skin
  • Psoriasis is a chronic disease which mean itnis a long term disease
  • There is no cure yet for psoriasis
  • On the bright side there are treatments for it that isnt costly.

1RST DEGREE BURNS

  • 1rst degree burns are the least critical
  • They involve swelling, pain, and redness of the skin
  • This is the most common of burns
  • Only the outer layer of the skin is burned

2ND DEGREE BURNS

  • Blisters usually occur
  • Tremendous amount of pain and swelling
  • Skin turns red and splotchy.
  • It is a minor burn if it is under 3.5 inches

3RD DEGREE BURNS

  • Third degree burns are the most serious
  • All layers and/or bone is involved
  • All damage is permanent
  • May have difficulty breathing
