Proximal- situated nearer to the center of the body or point of attachment

Distal- situated away from the center of the body or from the point of attachment

Medial- Pertaining to the middle; in or toward the middle; nearer the middle of the body.

Lateral- situated on one side or other of the body or of an organ, especially in the region furthest from the median plane

A fish has a lateral line down the middle of its body.

Superficial- on the surface or shallow like nose or eyes

Deep- away from the surface or further into the body like the hand

Caudal- situated in or directed toward the hind part of the body like a tail

Appendicular skeleton- the bones that support your arms and legs

Axial Skeleton- the bones of the Skull, Vertebrate, Column, Ribs, and Sternum

Thoracic cavity- the cavity that holds the chest

Abdominopelvic cavity is a body cavity that consists of the abdominal cavity and the pelvic cavity

Abdominal cavity- the cavity of the body between the diaphragm and pelvis, containing the abdominal organs.

Pelvic cavity is a body cavity that is bounded by the bones of the pelvis

Trunk region- the main part of the body, to which head and limbs are attached

Visceral pleura- membrane around the lungs

Parietal pleura - pleura that lines the inner chest walls and covers the diaphragm (light green color in picture)

Visceral pericardium- the inner layer of the outer heart.

Parietal pericardium- the outer layer of the heart

Visceral peritoneum- complete covering for the stomach, spleen, liver, intestines from the distal duodenum to the upper end of the rectum, uterus, and ovaries (red line in the picture)

Parietal peritoneum- lines the internal surface of the abdominopelvic wall (yellow color in the picture)

Frontal coronal plane- invisible planes that divide the body in half in a way that the body is the same on both sides

Sagittal plane- invisible plane that divides the body in half right down the middle

Midsagittal plane- invisible plane that goes right down the middle but it excludes the head and legs

Parasagittal Plane- sagittal plane that divides the body into unequal right and left regions

Transverse plane- invisible plane that divides a body by the waist to create 2 separate halves of the body

Oblique plane- a sideways invisible cut or plane

Integumentary system- is the organ system that protects the body from various kinds of damage, such as loss of water or abrasion from outside

Skeletal system- the framework of the body, consisting of bones and other connective tissues, which protects and supports the body tissues and internal organs.

Nervous system- the part of an animal's body that coordinates its voluntary and involuntary actions and transmits signals between different parts of its body

Endocrine system- the collection of glands of an organism that secrete hormones directly into the circulatory system
