Bones

Largest Bone

  • Your Femur is the largest and strongest bone
  • The Femur can hold up 6 tons of weight before breaking(12000 pounds)
  • This is also known as your Thigh Bone
  • Breaking your femur could be caused by car accidents or falling from a very high height

Smallest Bone

  • The Stapes is the smallest bone
  • Your Stapes is inside your ear
  • Compared to a penny it is not even a quarter of the size
  • The Stapes is 2-3 millimeters
  • The Stapes is used to pass sound vibrations to the Cochlea then goes to your brain

Most fragile

  • Your ankle is the most fragile
  • It is commonly rolled/twisted or fractured
  • If you break it/fracture it you can cause tendon damage which can hurt a lot
  • Supprisingly it is more common than breaking a small pinky toe

The Hand

  • There are 27 bones in your hand
  • Your hand and foot bones combined are more than half of all the bones
  • Your fingers are one of the most densest areas with nerve endings
  • 34 muscles

The Foot

  • There are 26 bones
  • A quarter of your bones are in your feet!
  • There are 33 joints, and 100 muscles

Bone Cancer

Osteosarcoma

  • Osteosarcoma starts in legs, the Pelvis, arms or bone cells
  • Mostly found in males from 10-30
  • Most common bone cancer

Chondrosarcoma

  • This starts under 20 and as you get older you can develop it more
  • It is the second most common

Chordoma

  • Found in people 30 years old and older
  • Affects the spine bone and base of skull

Muscles

Smallest muscle

  • Stapedius is the smallest muscle
  • The Stapedius is in your ear
  • Is used to stabilize the Stapes(smallest bone)
  • Just over one milimeter

Strongest Muscle

  • Your tongue is the strongest muscle
  • It is10 cm long
  • 2000-10000 taste buds at average
  • You can't see your taste buds with the naked eye
  • The little bumps are called Papillae

Collagen

  • Bones are made of Collagen
  • This is protein to make framework on your bone

This is a mineral to harden the framework.

When they mix they make the bones flexible.
