HOW DID THE ARABS ADAPT?

HOW DID THEY GET FOOD?

  • The oasis provided water to grow plants
  • A main plant was date palms
  • They would irrigate the land and grow food
  • Food like meat was scarce

HOW DID THEY GET SHELTER?

  • They used the wood from date palmes
  • They would build hut like houses
  • The roofs were thatch roofs

WERE OASIS DWELERS WEALTHY

  • Some where
  • The oasis where important stops for merchants
  • Some people set up shops to trade there items

DIFFERENCES?

  • While people who lived at the oasis had little meat
  • The nomads mostly ate meat. Nomads could not grow
  • Food as they were constantly moving around, but that was great
  • For their animals to graze.

MORE DIFFERENCES?

  • People at the oasis would build sturdy wood houses
  • Nomads would build a tent like structure every time
  • They would stop for the night

EVEN MORE DIFFERENCES?

  • Some nomads were also wealthy
  • That was because they sold people at oasis
  • Stuff like camel meat and skin
  • While oasis people made their money by selling
  • Nomads plants and other materials needed for traveling
