PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The Greeks developed three architectural systems , called orders .
Each had distinctive proportions and detailing . The Greek orders are : Donic , Ionic and Corinthian .
Doric Order
The oldest/simplest order that normally has no base.
Ionic Order
The Ionic style is thinner and more elegant.
Corinthian Order
The Corinthian style is seldom used, but often seen on Roman temples. Its capital is very elaborate and decorated with acanthus leaves.
The Epidauris is one of the most visited Greek sites . It has exceptional acoustics .
