LOCATION OF EGYPT

  • Egypt was located in africa.
  • It was divided into different parts.
  • Lower and Upper Egypt

THE NILE RIVER

  • The nile river was very important
  • To the egyptians because it provided water for crops
  • Africa is very hot so there is very few rain fall.
  • The nile is the suplier of egypt. It has floods, so the egyptians created
  • a system to keep from flooding the city and crops.

Burial Steps

  • When an egyptian dies their spirit turns into ka.
  • The body is washed in nile river water and purfume.
  • All of your enteral organs are taken out and placed in a jar.
  • Next your body is stuffed with neutron which removes dacaying harmone.
  • Then you are sown back together, wrapped in several coats of cloth.

  • Slaves and gifted craftsmen build these pyramids with dried dirt.

SPHINX

  • The great sphinx is a giant statue about 65 feet tall
  • It was created from one single giant piece of stone
  • It is a lion with the face of a man, scientist predict that it
  • may have been a king. It is located near the banks of the nile.
  • The statues legend is that it protects the the pyramid of khafra.

  • King tut was a 10 year old ruler over egypt.
  • He ruled over the 18 century 1332 b.c.e to 1323 b.c.e
  • He was important because he was a pharoah or king of egypt
  • and brought civilization.
  • King tut was also known for his death tomb, it was pricless and filled with jewels

  • Horus was the egyptian god, a.k.a osiris and isis son.
  • He fought Seth them brother of isis for the throne.
  • Osiris the father of horus was the god of the underworld
  • Anubis was a jakal headed god. He was the god of

QUEEN HATSHEPSUT

Queen Hatshepsut was the fifth Pharaoh in Egypt. She was in rule in 1478 BC. She was the wife of king Thutmose 2, and father of Thutmose 3.

PAPYRUS PLANT

Papyrus plant was used to make paper. It's found along the banks of the Nile river. It's very dangerous to get these plants because crocodiles live in papyrus. The Egyptians cut out the sides and use the insides. They mash it together and let it dry in the sun.

Hieroglyphics are ancient Egyptian symbols. They are a bunch of symbols that represent words. It is like the alphabet just with a lot more symbols.

THE OLD KINGDOM

The old kingdom was a period of ancient Egyptian. It was when the Egyptians developed their first civilization.

THE MIDDLE KINGDOM

The Middle Kingdom was another period of time lasting from 2000 bc to 1700 bc. During this period Osiris became the most important deity in popular religion.

The new kingdom was another period of Egyptian time. During this time it was Egypt's most prosperous times and marked the peak of its power.
