The coast of Greece is flat but elevates the farther you go inland.
The central portion of Greece reaches 22000 ft. High.
The mountains heights range all over the place from high to low.

Geography should be taught with history.
Knowing the location of where significant events happened help you
Better understand why the events turned out the way they did.
Like how Crete was an island that had the advantage of spoting their enemies
Or how Egypt flourished for hundreds of years with the Nile for trade and a water source.

MOUNTAINS
Greek city-states were separated by mountains and learned
How to grow with out having to rely on the others.
The mountains made farming difficult for the city-states to feed their own people.
Gave great tactical advantages over the enemy

WARFARE
When not in the mountains, warfare hit the flat lands.
The Greeks used tight formations and highly trained solders on the battlefield.

DAILY LIFE
Greek men trained if in the army.
Other men did all of the physical labor jobs
Women had no rights and stayed and managed the house all day.
Children usually played games and had Woden sword fights.

THE SEA
Provided fishing for all of Greece and made the majority of food supply.
Greek created one of the greatest navies at the time.
Used in warfare against invaders crossing the sea.

TRADE
Trade within Greek was limited do to natural barriers
Mediterranean Sea provided great trade routes with other empires
When traders passed through the mountains it was warm out.

During war trade was crucial for the Greeks.
