THE EARLIEST ARCHITECTURE
Greek architecture has always involved many columns throughout its history.
The columns were classified into three styles, Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian.
Doric columns were very sturdy and strong, but lacked detail, which important to them.
Ionic styles were more common in eastern Greece, and were thiner and had more detail.
Corinthian columns had plenty of detail, but weren't very common with the Greek.
3.
WHY AND HOW WERE THEY USED?
These columns were often used in temples to worship gods
The style sometimes depended on the god
Sometimes, the columns would be statues of certain gods
The architecture in Ancient Greece never really changed, and columns were always used
The columns are still used today as a somewhat symbol of Ancient Greece
