Music was important to the ancient Greek because it was a big part of the religious festivities. The Ancient Greeks were huge music lovers and would usually play music in many ceremonies that included marriages, funerals and religious honours. In ancient Greek, music started in 3500 BCE when the lyre was created, people believed that the instruments played by Greek Gods entertained Zeus with their divine music, dancing, and singing, whilst the people in ancient Greek would hear the divine music of the Gods. Ancient Greeks listened to all types of music, but the most liked ones were, Byzantine, Classical music, Ionian School, Greek folk Laïko, Rock, Hip Hop, Punk and Greek New Wave.
