LEADERS OF THE ANCIENT HEBREWS
Moses freed his people out of slavery in Egypt.
Moses gave his people the 10 commandaments, these were the laws that became the foundation of Judaism. The first commandament said: "You shall have no other God before me."
He fought with Goliath and beat him with a slingshot
David brought the Hebrews' most sacred object, the Ark of the Covenant, to Jerusalem. The Ark was a wood and gold chest that held the ten commandaments. David established Jerusalem as a holy city.
Solomon laid the foundation for the Jewish people to be governed by kings for more than 400 years.
Solomon built the first great temple in Jerusalem to house the Ark of the Covenant and to be the center of Jewish workship. Solomon forced his people to work on the construction of the temple.
