gods and godesses

  • most of the roman gods and godesses share the same traits as the Greek gods
  • the roman gods have diffrent names than the greek gods and godesses 
  • some of the gods have the same name in greek and roman

roman houses

  • rich people in rome constructed big houses with two stories
  • there is very little windows so that the houses would be well protected  
  • houses from Rome faced inward and red brick tiles are all over the roof
  • most roman people didn't live in such nice houses as the rich people
  • the poor romans lived in little rooms over shops or apartment homes

famous emperors

  • Augustus was the first emperor of rome
  • his name was Octavion but when he became an emperor he changed it  
  • Julius Ceasar was a great general of ancient Rome 
  • he defeated France and invaded Britian 2 times
  • Nero was adopted by Claudius.nero was blamed of a fire that destroyed rome

roman roads

  • the roads in Rome were built by soldiers in the roman army
  • they were used to take armies and supplies to overtake territories 
  • they were made with lots of sand,crushed rock,and concrete
  • the roads were more above level in the center so the water would drain off

  • roman numerals were used before Arabian numbers 
  • the reason why we don't use them today is because Arabic numbers are easier
  • I=1,v=5,x=10,c=100,m=1,000

  • men must go to court when summoned
  • witness must go to court
  • 30days to pay back if you owe money 
  • when a father sells his son 3 times he can leave 
  • until legal age females must stay with guardian

latin in rome

  • for years the roman catholic church has used Latin to keep it a mystery 
  • the reason romans still used Latin is because that was the main language
  • Latin was the international language at that time
