THE AQUEDUCTS

Romans aqueducts were first developed in 312 B.C.

Some water was transported further than 60 miles.

Canals for irrigation and water transport existed earlier in Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon.

CONCRETE

Romans began building with concrete for over 2,100 years ago.

Roman concrete was considered weaker than the modern concrete, but their concrete is remarkably durable.

They used slaked lime, volcanic ash, and volcanic rocks.

ANCIENT NEWSPAPERS

The Romans we're known to contribute to public discourse.

The early news papers were written on metal or stone.

The news was then posted on heavily trafficked areas.
