1)The Andes is a vast mountain system forming a continuous chain of highland along the western coast of South America. It is roughly 7000 km (4400 mi) long, 500 km (300 mi) wide in some parts (widest between 18° to 20° S latitude),


2) The Andes are one of the tallest mountain ranges, too, trailing only the Himalayas of Asia in height.

Climate

Temperatures 27 - 32 °C / 80 - 90 °F are NORMAL. Frost is unknown in winter. Daytime temperatures of 38 °C (100 °F) are rare, but the high humidity and monotony of the temperatures can make conditions very unpleasant.

1) The Amazon basin, the largest in the world, covers about 40% of South America, an area of approximately 7,050,000 square kilometres (2,720,000 sq mi). It drains from west to east, from Iquitos in Peru, across Brazil to the Atlantic.

2)Because it is so vast, it is sometimes called The River Sea.

3)Anaconda snake is found in shallow waters in the Amazon Basin.

Climate
In Pampas, the climate is warm and temperate. In winter, there is much less rainfall in Pampas than in summer.

The average annual temperature in Pampas is 12.2 °C. The rainfall here averages 607 mm.

Vegetation
Pampas Grass is a sort of grass that dwells mostly in the Pampas of South America. It is a very pretty, large and unique kind of grass.

3)The local name of these fertile plains is Las Pampas.
