  • Low hemoglobin concentration
  • May often go asymptomatic
  • More prevalent in women

  • Most common form seen in older adults and women of children bearing age
  • Most common nutritional deficiency in children
  • Affects 3% of children
  • Pica is associated in pediatric clients
