Anesthesiology is a relevant profession in U.S because it eliminated the pain of surgery for patients, it has been around for 170 years
It was originated by John Collins Warren (who is a historical figure of anesthesiology) at the Massachusetts General hospital in October 1846 (first successful surgery using anesthetic)
In May 2000 Great Britain held the first anesthetic day honoring the career
Daily duties: to put patients undergoing surgery under anesthetic, which is a huge job because the amount of anesthetic given to each patient varies in weight, height, and how long the surgery will take
Big picture: anesthesiologists make surgery easier and painless for patients during the surgery, without them the medical system would crumble
Importance to society: recreated surgery and made surgery much more easier this would be a good career for me because it's high paying and its early retirement and I'm very interested in the medical field
