ANGIOSPERMS

  • Angiosperms are commonly known as flowering plants.
  • They can be trees, herbs and shrubs.
  • Angiosperms have companion cells and xylem vessels.

EXAMPLES

  • Cucumber
  • Oranges
  • Strawberry

REPRODUCTION

  • Development of male and female gametophytes.
  • Contain both male and female gametophytes within the same flower.
  • The sperm guides the synergic cells migrate to the ovary to complete fertilization

GYMNOSPERMS

  • Gymnosperms have unisexual flowers.
  • Gymnosperm is a haploid tissue while it's triploid in Angiosperm.

REPRODUCTION

  • The seeds have a thin layer that probably doesn't offer them much protection.
  • Gymnosperm means naked seeds.
  • Potential targets for the pollen grains is mostly where plants are close together.
