PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ANGLES

ALTERNATING, CORRESPONDING, INTERIOR

Untitled Slide

  • Angles in a straight line add up to 180 degrees
  • Angles around a point (or in a circle = 360)

ALTERNATING (Z) ANGLES

  • Opposite angles are equal only if:
  • It's a Z (or N) shape
  • 2 lines are parallel

CORRESPONDING (F) ANGLES

  • 2 angles are equal only if:
  • It's an F shape
  • 2 lines are parallel

INTERIOR (U) ANGLES

  • 2 angles add upto 180 degrees
  • If it's a U shape
  • With 2 parallel lines

TOTAL INTERIOR ANGLES

  • To work out the total angle inside a polygon:
  • 180 x (n-2)
  • Eg. Triangle = 180
  • Square = 360
  • Pentagon = 540
  • So what is 'n' ?
  • Total angle in heptagon?

TOTAL EXTERIOR ANGLES

  • Use all the hints and your new knowledge :D
