• Has selective permeability, which controls what goes in/out.
• Performs Endo and Exo cytosis.

Rough ER

• Performs synthesis of proteins.
• Packages aforementioned proteins.

Smooth ER

• Detoxifies drugs.
• Breaks down glycogen.
• Absorbs and transports fats.

Mitochondria

• Produces energy for the cell/powerhouse of the cell.

Vacuole

• Stores food, nutrients, and waste.

Golgi Apparatus

• Modifies, concentrates, and packages proteins.

Lysosomes

• Digests particles, degrades nonfunctional organelles, and non-useful tissues
