PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Multiple times throughout the story, Boxer announces, "I will work harder" and "Napoleon is always right" (Orwell 44). Boxer constantly shows is bravery, loyalty, and hard-working nature to all of the animals. However, he shows the reader his ignorance by listening to Napoleon's ridiculous commands.
IN THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION, BOXER REPRESENTS THE CLUELESS CITIZENS OF THE SOVIET WORKING LIKE SLAVES FOR THE GOVERNMENT, OR IN THIS CASE, A GROUP OF CONTROLLING PIGS.
Boxer, being the loyal horse he is, believes everything the pigs say, even though they are taking advantage of him. He helps give hope to the other animals on the farm by always encouraging them to work harder. He even helps assure the evil pigs that the windmill will eventually work out. Boxer helps develop the theme explaining that greedy tyrants lead to a corrupt society. He worked as hard as he possibly could, but their farm still ends up failing because of the dictatorship ruling it.
