• Media misrepresents the potential of animal testing
• Most animal testing is done out of curiosity 

Ethical Problems

• Many believe that it is wrong to infect animals with diseases
• Scientists have good intentions and reduce the pain 
• If animals are seen as just things that produce data
• they will be mistreated
