• Date of birth: August 4, 1964
• Origin: Detroit, Michigan, USA
• Family: no siblings, architectural designer father & housewife mother (both Chinese emigrants)
• Education: attended The Parsons New School for Design in Lower Manhattan, NYC for two years

THE BEGINNING

• Love of fashion showed at around age four
• Attended college in her 20s
• Hired onto junior clothes line Charlie's Girls
• Fired for taking a sports ad at the same time
• Started own small business in her apartment
• Worked odd jobs to make spare income

BEGINNING CONTINUED

• 1st runway show with her model friends: Naomi Campbell & Linda Evangelista
• Paid models with the clothes the wore
• Model popularity=big success
• Big impact with Anna's Victorian era based theme, color schemes, & embroidery
• Runway show was located in the meat packing district

CURRENTLY

• Philosophy of design: vintage styles with whatever foreign culture she is interested in at the moment
• Examples: Indian, Eskimo, Viking, English/Victorian, gypsy
