When I was 13, I received a diary for my birthday. I wrote to an imaginary friend named Kitty. I documented details of Adolf Hitler's terrible reign and the millions he saw put to death in Europe in his concentration death camps. My family and I were able to hide in Holland for 2 years before we were discovered and sent off to Auschwitz, a death camp in Poland. Only my dear father, Otto, survived. He saw that my diary was published and now it is in 67 languages so that people will never forget this human tragedy in our world history.
