Reasons why teens use drugs

Pleasure

  • Nicotine, cocaine, heroin, and alcohol activate the reward pathway in your brain.
  • Don't use drugs because your brain could find pleasure in many things other than drugs.

Sports

  • Some kids use drugs like steroids to enhance their athletic qualities just to be better at sports. Anyways, you don't need drugs to be good at sports just practice.

Fitting In

  • Some teens use drugs because everyone else is. They don't want to be the odd one out so they start using drugs.
  • You don't need drugs to fit in. It doesn't even matter if you fit in with the crowd. It is better to be the one different person than another member of the crowd.

Pressure

  • Some teens are pressured into doing drugs by others or their friends.
  • Ignore the pressure and just refuse drugs. You'll die eventually but at least make it a long life instead of a short one due to drugs.

Curiosity

  • Teens may start doing drugs because their curiosity gets the best of them and they end up addicted to drugs.
  • If you're curious don't try drugs because the ingredients inside are addictive and once you start it is hard to stop and you end up having a short life.

Don't do drugs. If you get caught you are expelled or suspended from school, you go to a behavior school, you're sent to counseling, and you're enrolled in the Substance Abuse Awareness Program which can really ruin you're life.
