What's an aneurysm?

  • Bulge in the wall of an artery
  • Two types: 
  • Thoracic & Abdominal

Causing agent

  • Excessive smoking
  • Age
  • Increment of pressure 
  • Males
  • Family history

Diagnosis & Symptoms

  • There are no obvious symptoms.
  • Detected during routine exams 
  • AAA:Throbbing mass in abdomen.
  • Ultrasound, MRI, CT scan, angiography

Treatment & prevention

  • Surgical repair with a graft.
  • Stent graft.
  • Clipping of aneurysm.
