WHICH TEACHER TEACHES AP SPANISH?

WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF AP SPANISH?

  • Main focus: To prepare students to take the AP exam
  • In class, students learn past, present, and future tense
  • Students become more proficient in the Spanish language

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE FROM SPANISH III & AP?

  • Spanish III does not prepare you for the AP exam
  • Spanish III doesn't include as much writing as AP Spanish
  • AP Spanish makes you speak in proficient Spanish
  • AP Spanish is a 5 point class

WHAT KINDS OF ACTIVITIES DO STUDENTS DO IN AP SPANISH?

  • AP Spanish is divided into three components:
  • 1) Practicing for AP exam by audio & writing activities
  • 2) Read Spanish articles & send a summary about article on
  • the teacher's (Señora Godina) google voice in proficient Spanish
  • 3) Going over grammar by reading plays and short stories

HOW MANY HOURS OF HOMEWORK ARE ASSIGNED PER WEEK?

  • Homework length depends on how much effort the student puts in
  • Examples: one student will take one hour for homework
  • another student will take one hour and a half for homework
  • and another student can take about two hours for homework

WHAT IS THE SUMMER WORK FOR AP SPANISH?

  • Review a list of vocabulary
  • Review reading and writing
  • Write narratives in Spanish

HOW CAN STUDENTS DO WELL IN AP SPANISH?

  • Spanish III honors prepares you for AP Spanish
  • If you come from Spanish III honors then you are prepared
  • Students can do well by studying off notes and re-reading stories
  • Students can also do well by studying off vocabulary and using
  • it in narratives and writing short stories

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TAKING AP SPANISH?

  • If you pass AP Exam with a score of 3+, it goes on your transcript and
  • you receive college credit for this class
  • Another benefit is that you have the benefit to continue using the
  • knowledge of Spanish that you learned proficiently

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT AP SPANISH?

  • When students do not understand lesson, then they don't get
  • credit for it for not understanding it

HOW CAN STUDENTS PREPARE NOW FOR AP SPANISH?

  • Most students come from Spanish Native Speaker III
  • or Spanish III honors
  • Students from Spanish III honors are already prepared to
  • take AP Spanish
