Olympian Goddess of love and beauty.
Aphrodite involved herself on several noteworthy occasions with the affairs of mortal heroes.
She was born near the island of Cythera.
Heard to be the starter of the Trojan war.
One of the twelve Olympian Gods.

HER LIFE STORY
Because of her beauty, other gods feared that their rivalry over her would interrupt the peace among them.
The Romans called her Venus.
Aphrodite lived on Mount Olympus.
When Aprodite married Hephaestus – he wasn’t seen as a threat because of his ugliness and deformity.
Her parents were Zeus and Dione.

She had 14 children who are immortal and 5 which are mortal.
Her skin was to be whiter than ivory.
Also known to be the protector of sailors.
Her most famous child was Eros or the Cupid.

She used a swan-drawn car to glide through the air.
She wore a girdle with magic powers. It made everyone believe she was beautiful.
She was born already an adult.
A famous statue of Aphrodite is called Venus de Milo.
She married Hephaestus, but was in love with the mortal Adonis.
