Apollo 11 departed July 16, 1969 at 9:32AM from Kennedy Space Center in Florida

At 10:56PM on July 20th Neil Armstrong became the first human to step on the moon

On the moon, they took photographs, conducted scientific tests, rooted a U.S. flag, collected samples, left a patch honoring the fallen Apollo 1 crew, and placed a plaque describing the historic event

“That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Armstrong and Aldrin departed the moon at 1:11AM and returned to Earth.
