• When did the protests begin?
• Started on February 15, 2011. By February 18, most of Benghazi, was controlled by the opposition.
• What were/are people protesting?
• they recognize that they are a country rich in oil, but the people themselves are quite poor.
• The Libyan government under Qaddafi was deeply corrupt The Libyan government under Qaddafi was deeply corrupt.Qaddafi's family took much of the country's money for themselves

• How did the government respond?
• mercenaries were sent to the city to retake it from the civilians
• They opened fired on the civilians & they also released chemical gas on the streets
• What has been the result?
• For months the governments were trying to establish a laser guided missile attack on the capital city

• ..but most argument declined thinking it will start a war with ally countries
• It ended when the civilians stormed the capital city & shot Qaddafi.
