  • Muhammad's words and deeds
  • I live by sunnah.

Yathrib

  • (Ja-ribe)
  • The ancient name for Medina, a Muslim city
  • We traveled to yathrib.

SUNNI

  • (soo n-ee)
  • A member of the Muslim group that accepted the rule of the elected caliphs
  • I am sunni which means I accept the leaders that came after Muhammad.

HIJRAH

  • (HIHJ-ruh)
  • The move of Muhammad and his followers to Yathrib
  • Me and my family packed for hijrah.

MUSLIM

  • (Muz-lum)
  • A person follows the religion of Islam, accepting that Allah as the only god
  • I only believe in Allah so I am a Muslim.

ISLAM

  • (Is-lamb)
  • A monotheistic religion based on the teachings of Muhammad
  • I believe in one god because my main religion is Islam.
