PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Why is Archimedes important?
He I stablished the science of physics.
He helped people understand geometry.
He invented tools people use today, such as pulley, and lever.
He also made a screw that could carry water from one place to another. (1)
How do they impact us today?
He made something called the Archimedes Claw, which was used to repel attacking ships by lifting them up, today we have the crane something similar.
After he was killed many of his things lasted today.
He dedicated a lot of his time to science, physics, geometry, algebra, and astronomy.
Helped people understand that earth was NOT the center of attention (3)
What is there background?
Born in 287 bc, in the port of Syracuse.
Anticipated many discoveries in science and mathematics.
Devoted his whole life to research.
Was killed in a massacre.
Lived for 75 years (2and3)
How many things did he invent or discover?
He discovered too many things to name all of them.
Archimedes Claw, Pulley, Lever.
Also discovered the value of pi, helped people understand geometry, designed the catapult.(3)
