LITTLE ARCHIMEDES

• He was born in Syracuse,Italy
• Father was a great mathematician and astronomer
• Fathers name was Phidias
• Mother's name is unknown
• Nobody knows if he had siblings

OLDER ARCHIMEDES

• Figured out the gold smith was using cheaper mettles in the kings crown
• Did this without harming the crown or the king
• Famous quote..."EUREKA!!!!!!!!!"
• Ran naked through the streets shouting "I'VE FOUND IT!!!!"
• Made many discoveries during his position next to the king

IN TIMES OF WAR...

• The king asked Archimedes to help win the war
• Archimedes agreed and built many useful weapons
• He projected huge beams of wood that punctured the ships as they came
• The city of Sicily was safe for two years until the Romans got past the wood

ARCHIMEDES DEATH

• A roman soldier came and told him that the roman king wanted him
• Archimedes,so rudely interrupted,continued his problem
• Also he politely told the soldier that he was presently trying to do a problem
• Outraged,the impatient Roman soldier pulled his sword and killed Archimedes
• The Roman king ordered that Archimedes had a proper burial
