  • Archimedes was a mathematician, engineer, inventor, physicist, and an astronomer
  • He went to school in Alexandria at Euclid's
  • He was born in the city of Syracuse on the island of Sicily
  • Greek name: Ἀρχιμήδης

  • Came up with the word Eureka
  • Discovered how to find the volume of a sphere
  • Determined the exact value of Pi
