The Arctic Hare lives in the tundra. A tundra is flat, treeless, and always frozen. Arctic Hares live in Greenland, the Canadian Arctic Islands, and Northern Canada.

Food

The Arctic Hare eats plants like moss and small shrubs. They eat dwarf willow most of the time. Sometimes they eat fish. In the summer they eat berries and flowers. They eat snow to get water.

  • Sleep in holes or under the snow to keep warm
  • Can run 40 miles an hour
  • Use their coat for camoflage
  • White in the winter and grey in the summer
  • Do not hibernate
  • The biggest type of hare
