DEFINITION

  • My definition of a revolution is a usually violent attempt by multiple
  • people to end the rule of one government and start a new one

BEFORE INDEPENDANCE

  • Colonial ruler: spain
  • Colonized: 16th century

COLONIZATION

  • Spanish king declares that goods can not be transported to and from Peru via the port of Buenos Aires,
  • so that the monarchy can control and tax all South American commerce from Seville.
  • Spain's King organizes territories into Viceroyalty of Rio de La Plata with Buenos Aires as its capital.
  • This territorial reorganization legalizes trade out of the port of Buenos Aires, increasing commerce wealth.
