LINE

  • A mark with length and direction
  • Created by a point that moves across a surface

This pictures shows LINE because the cabinet files have length and direction. It moves across a surface which it the cabinet. The cabinet files are lines because they go across a surface and have length

SHAPE

  • A flat figure
  • Created when auctual or implied lines meet to surround a space

This picture shows SHAPE. The celling have lines that form the rectangles. The rectangles meet to surround a space. The celling has shape because it has rectangles and lines that meet.

FORM

OBJECTS THAT HAVE A VOLUME, MASS AND ARE 3D

This picture shows FORM because it is 3D and have a mass. I can tell it takes up space on the counter top. A stapler has mass and volume.

COLOR

A QUALITY THAT MAKES SOMETHING RED, BLUE, ORANGE... ETC

This picture shows COLOR because it has different shades. I can see there is more than one color. If you can see it, it is a color.

VALUE

THE DARKNESS OR LIGHTNESS OF A SURFACE

This picture shows VALUE Because the surface is dark. This picture is dark. This picture is dark because it was drawn with a darker color.

TEXTURE

THE WAY A SURFACE FEELS OR HOW IT MAY LOOK.

This picture shows TEXTURE because it looks spiky. The brush has texture because it is spiky so it can clean objects.

SPACE

  • Empty or open area
  • Between, open, below, or with in objects.
  • Postive space- space an object takes up
  • Negative space- space around an object

This picture shows SPACE because the buckets take up space. The buckets are a positive space. The bucket takes up space because it is 3D.
