THE CHURCH'S RELATIONSHIP WITH ALL PEOPLE

NON-CHRISTIAN RELIGIONS

  • The Church calls all the humanity of God.
  • The Church recognizes all religions searching for Goodness.
  • The Catholic Church seeks dialogue with other faiths.
  • While the Church does agree with religions who look for goodness,
  • The Church condemns all religions that are against The Church

JEWS

  • Catholics have a unique relationship with Jews.
  • Jesus himself was Jewish.
  • The Jews are part of God's Old Covenant
  • The Catholics are part of God's New Covenant

JEWS CONTINUED

  • The Roman Catholic Church does not
  • blame Jews for Jesus' Death.
  • Although Jewish leaders were involved in
  • Jesus' death, we can not blame the Jews
  • As a whole for what they did.

MUSLIMS

  • God's plan for salvation also includes Muslims.
  • Muslims acknowledge one Creator,
  • Trace their faith back to Abraham,
  • And worship their God by praying, alms and fasting.

MUSLIMS CONTINUED

  • Muslims do not recognize Jesus as Divine,
  • But the do know he was a great prophet.
