PRESENTATION OUTLINE

My Project

  • Aspirin is very beneficial for humans so I tested to see if it was the same for plants
  • and effect there growth.
  • Hypothesis:
  • If I dissolve aspirin in water, then I exspect to see the plant have more growth
  • because aspirin will be benefiting the plant.

HOW I DID THIS

  • I did by using four of the same type of plant, I used basil.
  • Two of the plants said no aspirin in which I just watered the plants with water.
  • The other two plants said aspirin which I watered the plants with one 81mg
  • aspirin tablet. Which was distributed between the two. Each plant got
  • 20ml of water each.

Week One

  • I planted the seeds and placed the pots in a garden window
  • where they would get sunlight. I also started to observe
  • them and water when necessary.

WEEK TWO

  • By week two buds started to sprout out of the pots
  • labelled no aspirin. The plants watered with aspirin did
  • not sprout out until week three.

WEEK THREE

  • During week three the plants started to grow in the pots
  • that were watered with aspirin. Those plants by the
  • beginning of this experiment became moldy.

WEEK FOUR

  • There was a noticeable difference between the amount of growth
  • from the plants watered without aspirin. There was also a noticeable
  • difference of the shape and amount of leaves on the stem. On
  • the plants with no aspirin there was three leaves not two like the leaves
  • watered with aspirin.

WEEK FIVE

  • With the aspirin plants you can notice a difference in the
  • amount of buds that have sprouted and the significance hight difference
  • from the aspirin plants to the no aspirin plants. The leaf size is smaller
  • and the difference in the size of the leaf.

Week Six

  • The number of buds on the aspirin plants has decreased.
  • The no aspirin plants have increased in height and in the
  • number of buds observed and counted.

FINAL WEEK, WEEK SEVEN

  • Over the seven weeks the plants watered with aspirin decreased in
  • the amount of buds each week until they got to one bud like pot
  • number two of the aspirin plants. Some of the seeds watered with aspirin
  • did not germinate. The plants without aspirin increased in the amount
  • of buds each week until the experiment was over.

Coclusion

  • In conclusion by completing this experiment, I
  • learned that aspirin benefits humans to make them feel better,
  • but does not benefit plants in any way.
