WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN TRAINING?

  • Practice landing, take off
  • do reenactments of zero gravity
  • classes in meteorology, navigation, astronomy
  • You train at the Johnson space station for 2 years to go to space

WHY DO WE TRAIN?

  • The astronauts need to prep,as they have not traveled in space before.
  • We need realistic experience
  • Training makes you prepared for any situation.

Astronaut Candidates are required to complete military water survival tests, prior to beginning their journeys.
