• Goddess of military victory and wisdom.
• Also is the Patron of the city of Athens.

WHO IS HER FAMILY?

• Her father was Zeus, which was the most powerful Greek god.
• Her mother was Métis, a nymph.
• Hercules was her half brothers.

HOW SHE WAS BORN

• Zeus hear a prophecy that the next child Métis bore
• after Athena would become The Lord of Heaven.
• To prevent this from happening, Zeus swallowed
• Metis while she was still pregnant.

HOW DID SHE LIVE?

• When it came time for Athena to be born
• The smith god cut Zeus' head open with an axe
• and Athena stepped out in full armor
