DESCRIPTION

• Is a contagious fungal infection
• Causes scaling, flaking, and itching
• Requires a warm moist environment

CAUSES

• Caused by the fungi trichophyton rubrum

SYMPTOMS

• Scaling
• Flaking
• Peeling between toes
• Burning
• Itching

TREATMENT

• Over the counter topical antifungal medications
• Soak feet in salt water or diluted vinegar

PREVENTIONS

• Keep feet dry
• Use socks made of synthetic material
• Ventilated shoes
• Anti-fungal powder on feet

PROGNOSIS

• Two weeks
• Severe cases may take a month
